But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
We can't be made right with God by doing the things in the Old Testament law. We can only be made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
And faith doesn't consist of doing the works of the law, either.
v12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
It's the same whether we're discussing the first time we come to Christ, or how we follow Him each day.
v3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
