v7
Cursed [be] their anger, for [it was] fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
It seems like Simeon and Levi got bad news instead of blessings, all because of their anger. Anger, kind of like drunkenness, causes people to do bad things they otherwise wouldn't do. We can't just let ourselves have some anger, to use it to our benefit, or it will take over and we'll get carried away.
Application
1 Corinthians 10:13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
The Lord has given us everything we need so we don't have to be angry. He supernaturally supplies strength for us to do the right thing. I'll remember to realize that next time I'm tempted, and just lean on His strength to remain calm.
