Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
We shouldn't be like those chief rulers. What good is preserving our place in a synagogue if we miss our Savior?
If we believe in the Lord, we should confess the Lord. We shouldn't do things (or not do things), so people will speak well of us, when the Lord wouldn't speak well of us for it.
