A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
This has been one of my favorite verses for a long time. It means to me that the way to be wise is to listen and learn. We should be willing to hear wise counsel, and to actively consider and apply it.
Application
Sometimes, when people are acting the wrong way, it's hard to receive the things they say, because the things that I can learn from, are mixed in with the things that are wrong. My application is that I'll pick out the good things and listen to them anyway.
