For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away [and] cut down the branches.
I can't understand what Isaiah 18 means, but this verse makes me think of how the Lord "prunes" us, His people, like a plant. We shouldn't be surprised if we encounter hardship, and we should follow Him.
