v27
He looketh upon men, and [if any] say, I have sinned, and perverted [that which was] right, and it profited me not;
This verse says, "It profited me not". Sin doesn't do us any good. Once we have done something wrong, we need to be humble enough to confess, "I have sinned."
From: I Am Thine, O Lord
By Fanny Crosby, in 1875 and William DoaneI am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith And be closer drawn to Thee. Draw me nearer, nearer blessèd Lord, To the cross where Thou hast died. Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessèd Lord, To Thy precious, bleeding side.
