I Have Heard Thy Prayer

Isaiah 38:5
Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

This seemed hopeless- the Lord had spoken, and said what He was going to do. Hezekiah was going to die from his sickness. He wasn't going to live.

What was his reaction to the hopeless seeming thing, that was overwhelming him?

Did he just say, fine, that's the way it is? No, and it's a good thing.

He prayed to the Lord.

The enemy tries to deceive us into thinking that the difficult times we try to do what's right, won't do any good. Does the Lord know, does He remember, that I've been doing my best for Him?

Oh, yes! He sends His Word, just specially, to me personally.

Be comforted- He says, "I have heard thy prayer", and "I have seen thy tears". He will add to our days, and deliver us, and defend us, and He will do a great and mighty thing, which is better than we ever thought!
